When they enter in an engaging routine,
being engaged becomes the routine.

Kick-Offs are an excellent habit for activating students' connections to you and/or their previous learning! Consider these approaches for students to engage with content and/or connection immediately upon their entry to the room. Examples include:

  • Greeting each student by name (and maybe a compliment)

  • Displaying a "Question of the Day" or other "Do Now" activity

  • Playing a GoNoodle video to join upon entry

PRO TIP: Movement is an excellent tool for transitioning from high-energy and/or less-structured activities (e.g., lunch, recess, gym class).
