Kick-Offs are an excellent habit for activating students' connections to you and/or their previous learning! Consider these approaches for students to engage with content and/or connection immediately upon their entry to the room. Examples include:
Greeting each student by name (and maybe a compliment)
Displaying a "Question of the Day" or other "Do Now" activity
Playing a GoNoodle video to join upon entry
PRO TIP: Movement is an excellent tool for transitioning from high-energy and/or less-structured activities (e.g., lunch, recess, gym class).
